Every level.
Every day.
Open play is organized by skill rating so you're playing at your level, not against it. SMASH also offers All-Level Open Play for mixed skill levels. Drop in or reserve your spot in the app.
Open play is a fun social way to play pickleball where players of similar skill levels rotate in and out of games. You can come by yourself or with friends, meet new friends and enjoy competitive games in a welcoming environment.
- Leveled
- By skill rating
- Beginner, intermediate, and advanced sessions, so every game is at your level.
- All-Level
- Mixed skill
- Everyone on the same courts. Good for meeting new partners and playing with friends at a different level.
This is the live schedule from CourtReserve, the same one the front desk uses.
Simple rules.
Paddle Rack
Using the paddle rack system, place your paddle at the court you want to play on next. Rotate in and out at the end of each game.
11-point games
Play to 11, win by 2. Standard scoring. Keep it moving — next match up after every complete game.
Rated by skill
Each open play session is rated. Join the session that matches your rating.
Check in at the desk
Scan your membership or pay drop-in at the front desk. House paddles or demos are available at no additional cost.

The unwritten rules that keep open play moving. Works at cvilleSMASH. Works at your local park.
- Call your own lines honestly — if you're not sure, replay the point.
- Line calls go to the receiving team.
- No coaching from the sidelines. Cheering is encouraged.
- Clear the court within one rotation of your match ending when people are waiting.
- Pick up balls. Yours and everyone else's.
